View Full Version : Suspected hijackers beaten to death by SLF
sharksandwich 2nd Jul 2012, 16:30 Two men who allegedly tried to hijack a plane in China were beaten to death by passengers and crew, state media said today.
The men were part of a six-strong gang, aged 20 to 36, who attempted to hijack a Tianjin Airlines flight bound for Urumqi last Friday.
Minutes after the flight carrying 101 people took off from Hetian, southwest Xinjiang, three men in the front and three in the back stood up and announced their plans.

Now THAT'S a deterrent. :ok:
Churchills Ghost 2nd Jul 2012, 17:45 While I am sorry for the loss of life involved, I have to say that I am not averse to terrorists (and potential terrorists) receiving the message that aircraft hijacking increasingly means taking-on the passengers as well and that they run the risk of being attacked.
I encourage passengers everywhere to join forces one with another and attempt to overpower hijackers whenever possible. Yes its risky but, in many cases taking no action is even riskier - 9/11, 11/23 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethiopian_Airlines_Flight_961) and other disasters serve as examples.

Yeah, right! FedEx Flight 705 is a good example, if you had pax and CC to subdue a threat, by all means. On this flight the pointy end of the crash ax should have been planted in the agressors scull on the first round.

How did they manage to get a rowing boat past security?

Lantern10 3rd Jul 2012, 02:54 Good result.:D
I think that post 9/11 most passengers wouldn't think twice about having a go.:ok:
Milo Minderbinder 3rd Jul 2012, 07:27 The hijackers were a bit daft really - trying it on in a country where half the population have training in advanced martial arts techniques

Actually, it's also airport security that looks daft in such a case, as half the population can easily kill any opponent without resorting to weapons (such as the nail clippers that the global TSA equivalent like so much to remove from pax).
On a more serious note, any person with a reasonable minimum of training in the armed forces will know how little it takes (it's all in the technique) to put anyone's lights out for good by using their bare hands - and don't forget, many countries still do have conscription. I am always scared at the thought that, as a result, the TSA and its world-wide counterparts, are frighteningly ineffective at preventing real killing machines from boarding a plane. To airport security, a person's hands are not weapons - only hardware is.
Re-entry 9th Jul 2012, 11:11 Such intervention would, of course, now be unnecessary in the USA due to the valiant efforts of the TSA to protect us.
'To protect you and your fellow passengers, the TSA is required by law to inspect all checked baggage. As part of this process, some bags are opened and physically inspected. Your bag was among those selected for physical inspection.
During the inspection, your bag and its contents may have been searched for prohibited items. At the completion of the inspection, the contents were returned to your bag.
If the TSA security officer was unable to open your bag for inspection because it was locked, the officer may have been forced to break the locks on your bag. TSA sincerely regrets having to do this, however TSA is not liable for damage to your locks resulting from this necessary security precaution.
For packing tips and suggestions on how to secure your baggage during your next trip, please visit:

Have a nice day.' (actually I added that bit)
The only way to secure your baggage is not to let it anywhere near the TSA
cavortingcheetah 9th Jul 2012, 11:53 So why didn't that happen on a bus on the motorway in England last week?
Edit: To include link to the ridiculous business.

There are many, many ways of killing someone without a weapon or weapons. All one needs is good hands and a strong resolve. (A strong back helps too but that's all dependent on how one wants to dispose of someone who needs killing.)

Always found boring them to death with my zero personality to be effective. Eventually they chew holes in their own wrists when the long winded drone gets too much...:}
