Next year it is 50 years since 48 of us were welcomed to the RAF College. Sadly some are no longer with us, but I plan to be at the College reunion dinner next year - is there any interest in making up a table - card sized or larger. If so I will contact the Reunion Sec at Cranwell

I was on 99/100 entry at Sleaford Tech, but my father was a Sqn Commander at Barkston Heath about the era you are trawling. He was Peter Eden and unfortunately he is in a home in Louth with Vascular Dementia. Our family is totally RAF even if he doesn't recognise you we would. He doesn't have much longer to go but I am sure my Mother, Val, would love to hear from anyone who knew him.

I was offered a place at ST after the five day selection process at Biggin in November 65. Does this count ? Nah, didn't think so. Turned down the Spring intake in order to join a Jazz trio on a Cruise Liner. Got a bit roughed up by my Army Colonel Dad for that first career decision. Often wondered if I would have survived the three years stint. Bit soft & the BA option proved much more tailor made for me. No squad bashing, no short hair, no REALLY tough physical stuff...............enjoyed my own room, almost own shower etc etc . Do admire the Cranwellians though and strangely, throughout my civil career, seem to get on with all of them (except one)...............or is it a case of all of them, strangely enough, getting on with me ?

PS/ looks like you chaps are light on responses. Maybe we could have a table for the "I almost went to Cranwell" mob of '65.
