View Full Version : The TSA Strikes Again - Pt III

Another incident with my favorite federal agency, the TSA. (Aka, the Gestapo.)

Seems a man was flying home to the US State of Indiana, from Florida, with the ashes of his grandfather who was recently cremated. The ashes were contained in a labeled urn.

TSA policy is that the ashes of human remains are to be X-rayed an not handled.

In this incident the TSA agent/thug decided to not only open the container, but spilled some of grandpa out on the floor. Instead of apologizing and help pick up the mess she had made, she simply laughed about it and made some snide remark.

Where do these so-called TSA agents come from? Flunkies from McDonald's?

Had that been me, grandpa's ashes would have been shoved up the agent/thug's as*.

Assaulting TSA iis certainly going to lead to far more grief than Grampa's ashes on the floor.

The best way to get them is to be uber polite and have a tape recorder going. One young fellow did so last year, I think, when they undertook to ask him why he had $4,000 in cash.

The long tape recording of the exchange was all over the internet at the time and the ACLU jumped in and the TSA not only apologized and "retrained" the thugs in question, but re-wrote their mission statement, reminding them that they are NOT cops.

It made for very satisfying listening for anyone who has ever flown commercially in the states in the past 11 years.

Dear Marj,
I must be visiting a different USA. Three times I have visited and each time, both arriving and departing, I have experienced nothing but consideration, efficiency and a measure of good humour (or humor) from the guardians of the border. What can I do to improve the situation?

Yours
Feeling left out, of Wivenhoe
