I'm not CAT 2 qualified and so don't know the answer to this question.

When you are qualified, is there any mention of it in your licence?

I'm guessing that it is the same as RVSM etc and the operator holds the documentation.

We used it have low vis qualification in our license, however that changed around a year back and now we do not need that anymore and low vis is only documented by the company. Apparently it is not needed anymore in EU states.

Between 1987 and 2006 we only ever carried a Company document (I was asked for it once in Poland). There were no annotations in my CAA licence.

endorsement into your licence depends on issuing CAA.

e.g. Austrian CAA still marks IR-CAT as I, II or III(a)
