I bought this hook off Ebay, It was advertised for an Enstrom, but it doesn't appear to be the one called for in the drawings. It has a stamp on it that says S1000. Any ideas? Any help would be very much appreciated. Joe

E-Bay, no makers nameplate, no SWL details, no history.......... Even if it fitted your aircraft, are you sure you want to use this?

Looks very much like the hook from a Hiller 12E. The hook was rated for a max load of 1000lbs. In the 70s and 80s I spent many happy hours slinging with the 12E and whilst I can not be certain the hook you bought looks identical to the 12e hook.
Too much use of the electrical release resulted in bending of the actuator pin so we tended to use the manual release which was a foot operated pedal. This worked well, the only problem being you had to take your left foot off the tail rotor control pedal to operate it. Could make life interesting!

Hiller 91000 Series Cargo Hook?

UH-12 E.

Only connection I can find is there is still an AD out on them in New Zealand that refers to Hiller SIL 3051.

LEDEX the rotary solenoid maker seems to be still in business as part of Johnson Electric.

While searching I found a guy that wants to buy one though!
