Non-NPPL pilots who are flying under the exemption of ORS4 No. 887, shortly to become ORS4 No. 912 & 913, should note that the CAA has now released Information Notice 2012/100, which gives advance notice of the 30 September 2013 withdrawal of Exemptions which allow the holder of a UK-issued Aeroplane Licence with a Single Engine Piston Class Rating to fly with a NPPL Medical Declaration.

Which is pretty much as expected.

Pilots currently using the Exemption with UK 'lifetime' PPLs will be able to continue to do so after 30 Sep 2013 when it will again be re-issued, but for SSEA, SLMG or Microlight Class Ratings only - not SEP Class Ratings. However, from 8 Apr 2015 only non-EASA aircraft may be flown under such an exemption.

See http://www.caa.co.uk/docs/33/IN_2012_100%20One%20Year%20Advance%20Notice...20%20June%2012.pdf for full details.
