That's a nice story - I love it when the smallest service makes an effort!

Dressing up and cakes - the RN equivalent of a show of force.

Nice to sea the Sea-nior Service is still making an effort even though it is a bunch of waffoos.
In days of old when knights were bold we had 'rum, bum and baccy'.
The rum has gone, the baccy has gone so I wonder what was on the recipe!
Do they still make kye with proper condensed milk?;)

Plenty of Harrier mates around to tell what it's really like to be a guest on HM war canoes. 'If it was good enough for Nelson, it's good enough for us.':ugh:

Saw the name of the thread and expected Merlin crews to be the subject matter.

I must confess to a chuckle when I saw the thread title.
From my youth ISTR that the phrase "a slice of sailors' cake", meant something quite different..........!

So, left to right, we have Lt Cdr Mike Bailey (in flash), LA(Phot) Jenny Lodge (in No.4s), Lt Dom Veal (in a once-only survival suit), PO(Phot) Alex Cave and LA(Phot) Steve Johncock (in tropics) and Lt Paul Rowntree (in HMS Daring's wardroom evening rig).
Nobody in an M&S suit, I notice ;)

Yes, I was a bit worried when I read this: In the JARIC team's case, the sailors determined to introduce the crabs to wets and stickies.
