My people: following the peaceful and democratically conducted elections conducted in the Queendom of PPRuNeonia yesterday, held under the auspices of the North-East Lincolnshire County Council supervisory team, I am pleased to announce the provisional results.

Totally and Completely Democratic, no look, I'm not joking, really Democratic with a Big D Party:

Party Manifesto: We want the EU Subsidy and will do anything to get it, including "austerity", only not yet. Maybe in a 100 years if that's OK ?

Result: 25%

New Left Wing Look After Ourselves Party

Party Manifesto: No Austerity, no job cuts, no more taxes, in fact free metaxa, but we want the EU Subsidy, oh my yes.

Result: 24.9%

We want the money and we want it now Party

Party Manifesto: Just lets have it, no p*ssing around, right ? the EU Subsidy, that is. And no whey-faced former East Germans wearing jackets three sizes too small telling us what to do.

Result: 24.8%

We know the EU's going to give in to us Party

Party Manifesto: No income tax for the rich, in fact for anyone, retirement at 50, free health care, free schools, new motorways, free transport and a no-strings attached EU Subsidy paid on the 1st of every month for the next million years or until the sun becomes a black dwarf, which ever happens first.

Result: 24.9%

Free Cruise Lines Holidays for all Party (except the Costa Concordia)

Party Manifesto: Free holidays afloat for all citizens of PPRuNeonia, paid for by Germans working until they are 70, or until they drop. Whatever. No EU Subsidy required as we are going to live on the cruise liners.

Result: 25%

The Communist Party of PPRuNeonia

Party Manifesto: we can make it on our own and don' need no stinkin' EU Subsidy, Hombre !

Result: 0.0000001%



(N.B. The numbers don't add up, but hey, that's the EU for you !)

I think the EU should audit your results. However, I would not worry about that as the EU itself has failed every audit for the last 20 years.

I voted until I ran out of false beards and moustaches.

It was the frocks that ended it all though.

it seems OFSO that no clear majority was determined...

what say a coalition or a re-vote at some point in the future, but for the moment, this piece of Government advice..

Why wasn't there a vote for the "Let's borrow shed loads of money from China and the Middle East and never pay it back" party?

There would have been, but shed lovers around the world - and from pprune - objected and promised violence, so.....
