View Full Version : HELP!! Beaver man 17th Jun 2012, 13:17 Can someone please explain to me in simple terms how the heck I can insert a photo into a thread? Thanks, BM PS. Keep it SIMPLE! Checkboard 17th Jun 2012, 13:23 Open an account on a photo hosting service, such as "Photobucket" Upload the photo to the hosting service. Copy the URL of the photo, place it within "img" tags in your post. (Photo bucket does this for you, you just click on the "img" link provided below the photo you have uploaded to copy it, then paste the result into your post. PingDit 17th Jun 2012, 13:32 or, read here: http://www.pprune.org/rotorheads/145070-how-post-photographs-videos-incl-photography-tips-gurus.html Ping Radar66 17th Jun 2012, 13:37 The above applies if you want to post one of your own pictures. If you want to insert a picture found elsewhere on the net: Find the picture you want. Right click on it. A drop down menu will appear. Select 'Copy Image URL' Go to your post. Place the cursor at the point in your post you wish to have the image, then click on the little box above the posting window that is a yellow square with a mountain in it. A pop up window will appear, and in the box, paste the URL of your selected image, and then click 'OK'. Something similar to this will appear in your post: http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/src:www.pprune.org/get/images/misc/pplogonew3.gif Carry on writing your post and when you've hit 'Submit Reply' the image will then appear in the finished post, providing that it doesn't have b-l-o-g-s-p-o-t (without the dashes obviously) in the link. pigboat 17th Jun 2012, 16:18 With a handle like Beaver Man you'd better be going to post a pic of one of those: http://www.dhc-2.com/497_C-FEYR_Mark_Putzer_Mosher_Lake_18072010_01_565.jpg probes 17th Jun 2012, 16:20 Well, Beaver Man, a sample of the new skills applied? :) and one more tip - check if the photo from the net is there after publishing the post - sometimes there's some copyright and it's blocked. Then one might try Google image search, and the small format you get from there. Still the same right-click (copy, on the pic, and paste to the Reply to Thread box) process that Radar described. http://t1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQSmSfoZfGY9wJoG4K8GcQvqtrRZnTIp6JTzgCXRpkOyNv8PObl Pelikal 17th Jun 2012, 16:48 Beaver Man, I've wanted to post pics as well but scared of trying, so this is my first attempt!! I tend to photograph at max resolution and size and one thing I DON'T want to do is post a picture that busts the window size and forces one to scroll horizontally. This really screws up text viewing on other posts. So apologies if the following pic is too large, or not visible at all!! The pic is hosted on Photobucket. (warning, aviation content). These were some bloody weird contrails. http://i1100.photobucket.com/albums/g412/RobJHP/Contrails%202011/ParalleltrailsApril1011.jpg Pelikal 17th Jun 2012, 16:50 He, he, it works! My first picture posting here!!!!!;) tony draper 17th Jun 2012, 16:54 Contrails? run away!! run away!! it's a trap.:uhoh::rolleyes: vulcanised 17th Jun 2012, 16:55 Got the size spot on too, I'd say. bnt 17th Jun 2012, 17:05 If you use Dropbox (http://db.tt/ydGfGAt), you put the picture in your Public folder, and use the "Get Public URL" option. Then you just put the URL between [IMG] tags. Pelikal 17th Jun 2012, 17:15 Mr. D, sorry about the contrails. Didn't mean to upset you, however these were strange. Formation flying at high altitude? After I took this they all veered to the right. Anyhow, I'm treating this thread to learn about posting pics, as I hope others are, so we can all afford to fcuk up:cool:!!! This is my next attempt, in the hope it may calm Mr.D down a tad.;) http://i1100.photobucket.com/albums/g412/RobJHP/Swannery/Chickride2LR-1.jpg probes 17th Jun 2012, 18:56 Wow! One should have the pic handy - in case of feeling low, insecure or abandoned. Would help, I guess! Beaver man 18th Jun 2012, 12:51 Thanks one and all. Managed to pull my finger out and got my first pic showing on "the Dog Dictionary". How about this one Pigboat... http://i1145.photobucket.com/albums/o518/davea767/XP820_1483.jpg? pigboat 18th Jun 2012, 14:20 Excellent! :D:D |
