Just wondering how people go about transferring money to the UK? I've used Emirates NBD but found it expensive.

I use XE.com for all my transfers. Works like a charm.

al rostamani.. gives you Ek rates (discount) and transfer costs are 45 dhs no matter of the amount...

FYI, Emirates NBD charge me 35 AED to send back £1.5k to Jersey.

Its not the charge that matters, it is the rate, NBD used to be pretty competitive, but not so much now. Much better to use Rostamani or GCEN, I transferred GBP10K yesterday and the overall saving was 280 AED compared with the rate quoted by NBD on the transfer form

I use TTT Moneycorp and have found them to be very helpfull and highly competitive with rates.

I realise the OP is about transfer to the UK but for the benefit of Australians in the ME they may want to use ozforex.com.au
