Admittedly not too familiar with the types of operations these aircraft have historically been tasked with. What do you see as the next replacement for these aircraft types? Without jumping up in PAX capacity significantly.

You've just outlined a very real issue with regional operators such as Rex (Australia) who have an exclusively Saab340 fleet.
As far as I'm aware (disclaimer: I'm a long way from being an expert on this subject) no-one is interested in the regional turboprop market.
Bombardier aren't interested in making any more 36 seaters, unless there is an order in sufficient numbers. There was a thread going about Saab looking into producing the Saab2000 again, but the thread appeared to me to be more like wishful thinking than based on anything factual.
