Sorry for introducing aviation into Jetblast.
On at the moment on BBC four, probably a repeat. Interesting documentary about Neil Armstrong, which for once was sympathetic to his perception of himself as a pilot and aviator first and an astronaut second and by accident.

Right now as I type this, we have the 'British Space Race' featuring Eric Brown, who quite honestly should be long ago Sir Eric Brown or even Lord Eric Brown. I cannot believe that any man alive with such tremendous credentials and experience should go so unhonoured.

Lately I've become somewhat cynical about my former pilot dreams. But the likes of Neil Armstrong and Eric Brown are inspirational for us dreamers.

Sometimes the BBC really hit the nail on the head.

It was a repeat indeed Corsair. Excellent Documentary. Like a lot of people I knew Neil Armstrong walked on the Moon but I never really put his name into Google to read more about his life or read his Books. The BBC put it into perspective very nicely.

Getting a spin in the Boeing Stearman is on my to do list now.

Er.....British Space Race'???????

Have I been missing something? And since when has a ten foot rocket on some obscure beach in Norfolk been a race for space?

Or am I just being cynical?:rolleyes:

IF it's the same programme that was shown last year then it was about this and not the Starchaser programme.

Blimey how quick they forget!
