The INPEX Ichthys field will be supported by Bristow using EC225s based in Broome. The pipeline construction will use EC225s based in Darwin initially.

Just a heads up for those crews joining the INPEX job.

'In country,' where this contract operates from the term "country" or 'hey or eh country' is one of great deference, not necessarily toward a close friend but certainly toward one whom you hold in great esteem.

Lesser terms of address like "mate", "ol' mate", "bro", "blok' or "co**head", abound. This is dependant upon the target of your 'affection' be it your mate, the grease monkey or the barkeep. It's best though to careful with the barkeeps most of whom are extremely good looking and can be highly volatile.

'Country' is usually a term of aboriginal to european interface but is acceptable either or any which way and mostly will be developed in more of a professional sense after years of working at the same coal face. It is close to but of higher accord than the term 'Maluka', usually only ever used one way, from aboriginal to european in stock camps or cattle stations generally and pronounced mullicka, which and depending upon inflection of delivery can mean 'boss man', 'white man' or 'blithering idiot'. I am talking about real aboriginals here, not the party coloured imitations that proclaim it when it suits them as Captain Cook was here before them.

There are heaps of people on here I could feel comfortable using the term country or Maluka to address, and I am sure they would be quick enough to interpret the salute conferred, but methinks it'll be a time before I use either toward 'olmate' SM.

For the record, INPEX has recently purchased 17% of the Shell Prelude project off Western Australia which is located very close to INPEX's Ichthys field.

You being such an expert, I am sure that they will try to pool knowledge and use your unparalleled aviation expertise now that you are "partners".

Shell Management, it is my experience that it's the small companies that have the ability to make rapid transfers. Also INPEX is a bigger company than you think, they have spent the last few years planning to spend billions of dollars in Darwin and the top end.

I worked as a contractor for Shell many years ago, to have changes made took years as it was so big that so many departments had to be involved in every part of the transfer/change, to many cooks and all that!

When it comes to the helicopter operators, smaller is more agile.

TM is right, there are no 139s going onto the INPEX contract, its only EC225 from Broome.
