View Full Version : A340 landing with jump antiguogrumete 4th Jun 2012, 09:00 Maybe I'm wrong but seems this Airbus A340 from Lan Chile is touching ground with a small jump 8zvZ595DJPE nothing serious, I guess BOAC 4th Jun 2012, 10:19 Correct on both. :bored: DaveReidUK 4th Jun 2012, 10:21 I believe the technical term for this type of event is "landing". Hotel Tango 4th Jun 2012, 12:15 The technical term used by the F/O is, "you bounced it again Captain"! ATC will say, "LAN123 take the third bounce to the left". kenhughes 4th Jun 2012, 17:39 In fairness to the pilot, it looks like the runway slopes sharply up then a long downward slope starting just after the touchdown point. So the aircraft didn't bounce as much as the runway projected it up again - a bit like the ramp on the end of an aircraft carrier. Of course, it could just be the camera angle. Tricky things, those ski-jump runways. Not many people know about this one at Barajas. |
