Could anybody tell me what license is required to fly an Icon A5 in Thailand?
I can find information on ultralights and the usual GA types but nothing in the light sport category. For info, it has an MTOW of 1430lb.

I reckon a song thaew or sam lor license might just do it .... :E

The problem is I have an ATPL but exercise the privileges due to structural damage from a car accident. I can still drive (if I stop the pain medication) and under the Australian regs I could still fly for recreation with a sport aviation license. The problem is even though Thailand have an "ultralight" license the A5 is way too big for that category and by the look of it the next step up is the PPL with all the usual medical requirements.
