View Full Version : THANK, CHAPS!! BEagle 30th May 2012, 18:16 Very nice flypast of BEagle Towers by a Lancaster, 2 TypHoons and a Hawk at 1911 BST ce soir. Thanks a lot, chaps/chapesses! Milo Minderbinder 30th May 2012, 18:23 So they've retired the jets to the BBMF have they? NutLoose 30th May 2012, 19:33 Nope, simply put the Lanc back on the active list. Legalapproach 30th May 2012, 19:38 Bahahahhahahahha...... Bill Macgillivray 30th May 2012, 20:01 Just great to see (and hear!). Two runs over my place this evening - thank you! (I know it was not for me and my memories of formations stretch to many, many more aircraft! Never mind, it was great!) Query, what was it about? :ok::ok::D:D Milo Minderbinder 30th May 2012, 20:08 Practice intercepts of a slow aircraft??? Presumably those Typhoons may have a problem keeping formation with a hijacked old piston aircraft ShyTorque 30th May 2012, 22:03 They're out touting for Beag's cash, seeing as he's cancelling the Vulcan direct debit.... ;) TEEEJ 31st May 2012, 09:14 I believe that it was a photo op flight involving 100 Squadron special scheme Hawk. An enthusiast snapped some images at RAF Coningsby. View topic - Hawks at Coningsby (http://forums.airshows.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=43395) Stitchbitch 31st May 2012, 09:31 Bill, it was payback for that Skyvan trip from Seeb in the 1980's. :ok: I recon the Ton are celebrating their 95th and Typhoons joined for a flypast..:E GOLF_BRAVO_ZULU 31st May 2012, 12:08 That's an interesting colour scheme for the Anniversary Hawk. The code letters 95 were never worn by 100 Sqn A/C though. :} (I do realise that the number is to aid the arithmetically challenged) Basil 31st May 2012, 12:45 Perhaps they should have used 69 - so that it would read the same inverted. What did you think I was going to say?? cornish-stormrider 31st May 2012, 13:34 THIS THREAD IS WORTHLESS WITHOUT PICS!!! taxydual 31st May 2012, 15:02 Cornish Look at post 8. Archimedes 31st May 2012, 16:09 The Typhoons and the Lanc made an appearance at the annual Dambusters Dinner at JSCSC (there were four WW2 617 chaps there as guests, who between them can claim credit for sinking the Tirpitz and Lutzow. The flypast is staged in honour of the veterans). Milo Minderbinder 31st May 2012, 16:24 Presumably they realised they'd never get to 100 so 95 had to do instead... snafu 31st May 2012, 17:36 The Lancaster was great last night with multiple flypasts, just a pity that the Typhoons didn't return for a slightly quicker trip past! NutLoose 31st May 2012, 18:42 Here you go Cornish-stormrider, anything to please, though I cannot fathom out why you wanted one... http://www.hirestation.co.uk/images/hs/product/hire-pickaxe_YHB01_pickaxe_1_6.jpg Dodgy mission marks on the Hawk are a bit like a Walt wearing medals.. :} cornish-stormrider 31st May 2012, 19:10 Thanks Nuts, wiseguy are ye? Taxy, I am well aware of the contents of post 8 - they do not quantify as pictures (or pics, in the vernacular) I wanted flying proof shots - the money shot if you pardon the pun. Stitchbitch 31st May 2012, 19:36 Cornish you'll get moving pictures in a few weeks.. taxydual 31st May 2012, 20:35 Ah, pics of flying proof! I'm sure as soon as BEags Box Brownie snaps have been recovered from the Chemists' we'll see the evidence. ps Bloody Hell, you're a 'picky' bugger! ;) Bill Macgillivray 31st May 2012, 21:03 Stichbitch, PM me if you would. I can see that we are going to get into the usual F** (can't remember what it is called!!). Beags. pay your dues!! Stitchbitch 1st Jun 2012, 12:24 Bill, PM away. :ok: |
