Money is reasonable and plenty of hours available.

Don't expect any training though... Even if you try to pay for it yourself!

SE Asia is a great place, but expect to be flogged :} :ouch:

it wil be an agency, beware though as there are some that are not so good, promise the Earth and rip you off. I'd do some research first before deciding to go with one.

AJI is not as bad as most make out. Most are the same though... not as good as your first told! AJI has the most LAE's under contract now. They have people in with SIAEC and MAS. MILCOM were slightly better for SIN contracts years ago but not sure how much they have available.

Kristec & co are MAS only.

If you go direct with SIAEC you'll get staff travel and paid leave etc. You also have to do "lieu" days - One unpaid 12hr shift every 6 weeks, overtime thereafter is at single time. Contract agency is better as your purely power by the hour on a better rate with no lieu days, though if your sick and can't work then you don't get paid!

Junior LAE with SIAEC is less than 5 yrs (2 stripes). Probably less pay too! After 5yrs they get an extra half stripe.

All expat positions are generally 2yr contracts renewable. No such thing as a permanent position.

Aviation Jobs, Airline Jobs, Air Jobs, Jobs in Aviation - AviationJobSearch.com (http://www.aviationjobsearch.com) have most of the advertised positions for SE Asia.

If you have B777 and A330 with PW4000 then Vietnam Airlines are always looking too..

Aircraft Engineers Bulletin Board - Powered by vBulletin (http://www.airmech.co.uk) for AJI comment.

SQ living cost is high.

VIETNAM pay is low comparatively.

As already mentioned here, expect to be flogged, its nice to romanticise about living in SE Asia, the tropical weather, the lifestyle etc, but the reality is that its long hours and can be a lot of stress, but everyone has a different opinion/experience.... jobs as an expat in the far east seem to be thin on the ground these days even for multiple types..perhaps try HAECO, SIAEC might be ok too but I've been heard the junior LAE rate there is peanuts!
