Not sure if this is in the right forum, but I'll try anyways

I am a charter pilot for Island Airline/Ocean Wings of Barnstable MA. I recently applied for a SIDA badge for KHYA and a week later I was informed by the badge coordinator that I could not receive a badge because I mis-read a local airport convictions form, and selected no for all offenses. Upon receipt of the background check they saw I had an arrest on my record, and because I was confused on the paperwork and did not indicate it, I am not*eligible for a SIDA badge. I am being accused of lying on that non-government form, when in reality it was the poor wording in the instructions that led me to believe I was to check off yes for the conviction if I was arrested AND convicted, not arrested OR convicted. The arrest is not*disqualifying under CFR 1542.209, and was dismissed with no conviction.*
*
The local airport management is not allowing me to re-apply for the badge because of this minor misunderstanding. To make the situation even better, I have a full access SIDA badge to KBED in Bedford MA, where I also work. So this is not my first time getting a SIDA badge.*
*
My company management has tried to work with the badge coordinator to resolve this issue but she will not make any exceptions. I am not looking for an exception, I would just like to simply re-file the paperwork and correct the error.
*
*I would like to know what I can do to appeal their*decision because without this badge I cannot work at the Barnstable/Hyannis airport where I am employed. *

Any thoughts? I've literally tried everything except a lawyer..

Gotta love what happens when you give a little power to a little person.

From a practical and immediate standpoint you should be able to go from ops to the airplane without a badge, or, if necessary, under escort from someone with a badge and with escort authorization. That should keep props turning in the interim until you get some final resolution.

Your employer should take the reins here and try to get it sorted out. If you have a good (or professional) relationship with the badging authority at BED they might be able to point you down the right track.

Good luck.

Well according to the badge lady, because I was denied a badge I am no longer escortable, aka not even a fellow employee can walk me to my plane.

Also, my director of operations has tried all he could do but since this lady thinks the next 9/11is coming out of Hyannis in a 402, she's not budging with her decision.

I've literally contacted both the airport manager and assistant, along with going to the town hall, police dept, and contacting a state senator. I also spoke with TSA but they weren't much help. All they said was the airport has the right to deny anyone an access badge.
