Hello everyone,

I've been involved with DC8's for quite a while and over the years have had discussions and arguments about the engine pylon vent panel on the 60 series aircraft (AMM 6-11-3). Basically it can put fitted one of two directions, one way will pressurise the pylon and the other will vent it.

All the AMM says is to fit it with the arrow facing forward, all well and good on a new airplane but on a 40 year old, painted umpteen times, this doesn't quite work anymore.

Which way do you all think is correct, pressurize or vent?
