Apologies if posting on the incorrect forum, but I just wondered if anyone would be able to tell me why the Anti Collision beacons on some Harriers were painted green?

This link shows a model Harrier (http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=234918862), and someone slated the model maker until it was pointed out that this was indeed accurate, and the ACB's were in fact green...

NVG compatability. They weren't painted green but had filtering. Originally night ops was done with no anti-collision lights showing as they gave too much blooming on the goggles but later fit introduced NVG compatability.
