I've been scanning some old negatives that were found in an old house that was being cleaned out. These two show what looks to me like a pretty early sea plane. I'm pretty sure they were taken in Patchogue, NY, on the Great South Bay, sometime between 1910 and 1917.

Just wondering, really.

Could it be a Curtiss Model 'F'?

I am sure you are correct S'land.

That looks right. What would it be doing in a (at the time) little town in Long Island. Barnstorming? Mail? Just wondering.
