Akrotiri bad boy

Whilst out for a bit of a stroll this afternoon with Mrs Bad Boy we heard the unmistakable sound of Merlin engines. As we cleared the tree line a Spit and a Hurricane flew over then proceeded to do a beat up in the distance in an area roughly North/North West of Tavistock. The pair then made northwards before growling off in an easterly direction.

Anyone any info on who/what the show was for?:8

Spitfire PM631 and Hurricane LF363 both refueled at Exeter on Saturday afternoon.
I understand that they performed a flypast at a ceremony in Torquay and possibly at the Dartmoor Gliding Club.

They're also at Caernarfon this afternoon for a display there.

They did indeed perform several flypast's at Torquay, as they were part of the celebration of an event which happened 70 years ago when King George VI took the salute from all the RAF crew's who were stationed in Torquay during the WWII and who underwent there training there. The event yesterday was organised by 200 Sqn ATC, and the Devon and Somerset Wing of the ATC ans was marked by in excess of 500 Air Cadet's,NCO's and Officer's from the RAF Voluntry Reserve as well as some of some of the remaining RAF crew re-staging the event and the salute was taken The Duke of Gloucester.
The Hurricane and the Spitfire flew several low level flyby's in front of the Duke of Gloucester and Staff and Cadet's prior to departing with a wing waggle to take place in another flyby just by Tavistock and then returning to Exeter for refuelling and departing for Kemble where they have been displaying today.
