Hey,
I'm looking to buy a Piper Dakota (1979 would be ideal) and have a dilemma...
The plane is going to be flown in the UK for a year or two and then be flown down to Kenya where it will stay. I have a UK PPL so I'm a little confused about which register the aircraft should be on and how difficult it is to change etc. So if I buy the aircraft in:
The US
Plenty around for a good price and would be cheap to carry out work before ferrying it across. The Problem is that I would then end up with an N registered aircraft in the UK. How much of an issue is that? Would I be able to fly to France let's say with an N registered aircraft on my CAA PPL? How easy is it to register as a G reg, expensive?
UK
Would probably be easiest option but just can't find a Dakota for sale (anyone know of one?!).
