After a simple hotel room clean comfortable in a reasonably active part of the city.

IDeally avoiding the chains and keeping it family run.

I would strongly suggest the Hotel Tamaris. I stayed there last year during the Air Show. It is at the southwest part of the town. Very decent, reasonably priced for the time I was there (88 €/night).
