I am looking at some photos of Mi-8/17 and I am wondering about blade twist on these blades. As far as I understand the blades are made out of straight segments (21 pieces per blade in case of mi-8) and I don't see any obvious blade twist. Than it occurred to me, do Russian medium and heavy lift helicopters (also mi-26) have the blades coning angle made spectacular because of the smaller blade twist? Any technical data about the blades out there? Are Russian blades made on the principle of keeping it simple?

Or am I looking from the wrong perspective - lighter blades, span wise blade CG different to western helicopters?
