Just wondered what the current condition of the Bandeirante's at Maryborough (QLD) is, VH-UQA and VH-OZF have been sitting there for quite some time. UQA was recently cancelled from the register as going to the Cook Islands.

Neither will fly again. The better one left on an open long container base bound as deck cargo for the Cooks some time ago. The other is a stripped shell and an eyesore. Please someone take it and the Commander away, and make an offer for the Broussard before it deteriorates as well..

Is the commander the FVJ a 685?

You'd have to be a total Broussard lover to want one, I think they were saying 80-90 litres per hour to do 90 kias, buying it would be the cheapest part of the deal, having said that what sort of money are they after , it was about $80k before I left.

Max Holste M.H.1521 Broussard - Specifications - Technical Data / Description (english) (http://www.flugzeuginfo.net/acdata_php/acdata_mh1521_en.php)

Geez, looks so much like a French Beaver in many way eh. Only 366 built sadly. I bet parts would be a pain now. Looks like a great door for meatbombing, but if it climbs like a French beaver, well not to good.
:ok:
I really like its lines.

looking at the speed of 146 knots, must have been done by dropping it from a bomber ,,,minus the wings!

Too true Frigatebird, and they give the public a poor image of aviation too.

Have they ever gone on floats?

Whatever you do, don't open FVJ's door without taking a deep breath first!
(it's a bit krusty in there!):\

I flew that beast (FVJ) several times back in 2001/2. Each time I flew it something went wrong. The aircon was modified to run on the hydraulic system and, if it was running, the gear would not retract fully. One time out of Mt. Hotham a hydraulic line burst and filled the cabin with vaporised fluid and the gear would not retract. Another time the turbo charger on the right engine fell over while passing FL130 on climb. It was slow, never got anywhere near book speeds. It was such fun to fly!

Someone mentioned a main spar AD or replacement , can't remember which , but basically made the AC worth it's weight in aluminium
