Hi,

Are their any freelance FIC instructors on here in the North East England region who are willing to teach the course in a privately owned aircraft not a club aircraft?

Thanks in advance

No, because all FIC training must be conducted at an Approved FTO (ATO) as has been the case for many years now. The FIC Instructor's personal authorisation is also tied to an approved organisation.

Might be possible to get an ATO to add a suitably maintained private aircraft to their list. I did my spin training in my own aircraft.

My "No" was in relation to the freelance FIC instructor. If the aircraft is suitable, then you can certainly use you own aircraft subject to a satisfactory check by the Head of Training.

Most FIC instructors have a relationship with their ATO such that they could actually do this using the ATOs umbrella, there is at least one that I know that has done this.

A few years ago Steve M used to have an arrangement with Northumbria Flying School at EGNT. Heard he'd retired though.

They may know of other providers in the area, or have someone who can sort you out.

Such an arrangement is called an Approval and all such approvals are listed in Standards Doc 31 (http://www.caa.co.uk/application.aspx?catid=33&pagetype=65&appid=11&mode=detail&id=2854)

The Aircraft i have access to is a flight school aircraft but i get it for a much cheaper rate as i have a 25% stake in it. Would this be allowed if the aircraft is under an approved FTO to conduct training this way?
