Our company has a safety standown coming up and I've been asked to make a presentation on Trust as a Human Factor in Maintenence. I'd like to ask pprune's for any thoughts or ideas they might have in this regard.

Some points I've considered are: trust in yourself, trust in your coworkers, trust in your equipment

Trust can be a negative:

If your thought is:"I've been working with this guy for 15 years and he never makes a mistake."

Are you going to have the same level of scrutiny as you would going over the work of a new apprentice :=

That is what Human Factors are about. Good luck with your presentation :ok:

HF in maintenance is about:
Awareness
- of the situation you are entering and
- what is going on around you

HF in maintenance is also about and the consequences of what you and your colleagues are doing.

It is not good practice to trust anyone in maintenance but it has to be done
- not really much different from CRM (and it was nearly called MRM- Maintenance Resource Management)
