Can anyone enlighten me with the meaning of the abbreviation "FBL" on an actual weather report? Saw it the other day at EKCH. Is it French perhaps?

Any chance of posting the whole metar? Also i doubt you'd find french abbreviations at copenhagen.

Google + metar+FBL = Aeronautical Abbreviations (http://www.dixwx.com/abbreviations.htm)

ICAO term for 'light' intensity.

I believe it's derived from 'feeble'.

Actually there are a few French abbreviations used in weather reports:

BR - Mist - Brouillard
GR - Hail - Grele
FBL - Light - Faible
PO - Dust devils - Poussiere

Possibly more, but my French isn't up to it.

I can confirm FBL means feeble (meaning weak, for our non native English speakers)
