Looks like the pensions decision is out. You keep whatever you have accrued up to 2015 then you're rudely bumped onto the new scheme. But basically if you're on AFPS 75 and you leave after 2015 at your 38/16 you still get your immediate pension (less the awkward bit between 2015 and when you leave). Might stop a few PVRs maybe?

There's already a 13 page thread running on this.

Ps. The awkward bit is why people are considering legal action! I'll take my preserved bit a leave on 1st April 15 thanks.

PPS. Legal action not because of the change in pension - that's just hard luck. Legal action because we're not being given the option to leave and seek different employment whilst being able to claim what has been "protected" immediately.

The issue for many aircrew is due to the new PVR terms as of 1 April 12, you lose all FP the day you PVR. For some, this equates to a 20% pay cut. So, unless you have an option around 2015, there is no means of refusing the changes to the armed forces pensions scheme. IF there was an option to opt out with 1 months' notice I would have less of an issue.

I managed 3 months on PVR last year thus minimising effect of 50% FP. :ok:

That said, I did waive large chunks of resettlement and my Terminal Leave to do it.

Is the 2015 date inclusive - up until 31.12.15?
