The thought just occurred to me it has been nearly a year since he headed west in his Tristar.

Just an observation and a reflection of more than a few here that miss his unique contributions on this Forum.

Thoughts, opinions ?

I was just thinking of him the other day. I liked his input on this board. I would imagine he did fly a Cessna 411 in his career.

Because he has gone, thoughts & opinions must only be good. Pprune cops and the self opinionated are watching closely !

Even 411a himself would have smiled at this one!

I always associated his 411A handle with the old airway through Saudi where I think he flew for many years. His comments were often insensitive and infammatory, especially regarding the working conditions of younger pilots.

If you work your way through his posts, he makes the occasional reference to his Cessna.

Pprune is a lot duller since 411A is no longer with us.

When I see some threads I can just imagine 411A going into print if he was still with us and if I were a betting man I could guess with some accuracy what his comments would be.

Worked with him. He may have been inflammatory and controversial on here, but he was a gent and a fountain of knowledge which he was always willing to share.

I think you would have to be a bit 'precious' to be upset by much of what he posted here!:)

411A flew with young co pilots for both Saudia and SIA, I have met several from SIA, (now all senior captains), who still speak very highly of him. There will always be the disgruntled 0.10%, we have all met them.

Doc,
How could he be inflammatory and controversial and a gent at the same time?

Perhaps he was a very experienced pilot always gracefully prepared to share his knowledge with those who could be silent and listen but who tolerated with a degree of difficulty the increasing number of right side experts in aviation self adulation and young whippersnappers?

Winston Churchill was.

(P.S. cavortingcheetah has said it all really).

411a once gave me some very good advice.

There was nothing in it for him, but he still took time to write.

I always appreciated that.
