It is with regret I have to report the passing of Norman Waller who died in his house at Worthing last month, January 2012.
His funeral will be in the week of 27th Feb, details will be posted as soon as available.
Norman was schooled in Kenya, Prince of Wales boarding school, (shared a study with singer Roger Whitaker), served in the Army--Kings African Rifles-- and went to Perth Scotland for pilot training.
After intatial operations in the South East of UK Norman worked for worlwide cargo airline Tradewinds Airways, at Gatwick, where he flew CL44 swing tail freighters, and later B707 jet freighters.
With the new aircraft rules prevailing in the UK, Norman saw his career out with occasional missions flying for several different companies based mainly in Ostend, Belgium.
He retired to the family flat in Worthing where he lived by himself till last month
He is survived by his daughter, Philippa, who lives near Gatwick and to whom we extend our sympathies.
The details will be posted on Pprune--Where Are They Now-- so any past pilots friends can attend or place a notice in Memorandum.
