You need to contact Aircrew Legal Protection, its run by a (now retired) airline
captain, has been around for years and has members world wide. They have certainly had a few "saves" in our company over the years and I have been a member for years, its well run and very reasonably priced.

You may also wish to consider contacting a major broking house and tell them you are looking for a Professional Indemnity policy relevant to you as a pilot, they will then search the market for the best and most appropriate deal.

I'll go straight off the bat I am a happy member of BALPA. My legal indemnity through the union I consider to be cheap. My other half pays ten times as much per month to her medical defence company. (she's a part time GP).
However the biggest bonus I find is that I instantly have a specialist lawyer on call in pretty much any country in the world.
How much would that cost through a legal indemnity broker.
I know many are dissatisfied by balpa at the moment (particularly vaa.) but they're worth every penny in my humble opinion. And I don't need permission from a claims administrator to get a lawyer to get me out of a police cell (unlike the other options discussed).
