Anyone got more info on this? What happened?? The Namibian said no injuries (well done!), but how is the plane?

Its a Rockwell/Gulfstream Commander. I hate Journo's. Any idea what happened?

had a buddy see the plane after the incident. when the plane touched down there was a brake malfunction. one brake worked well & the other one didn't work at all, so upon braking to slow the aircraft down, the aircraft skidded off of the runway....

i didn't see anything, but this is what i heard...

Do they have reverse on those engines? As far as I know they use an all turbo-prop fleet...

They have RT. Fleet: 2 Rockwell Commanders, the Van and the rest is MEP/SEP.

In the environment they operate in, they have had a fairly good record, compared to others operating out of Eros.

There were no skid marks on the runway... (maybe just in the pilot's pants :})

C401, C310, BE58, C210 turbo props... :D

I spoke to engineers there, who reported no damage.
Lots of media hype!

DaFly, this thread is about Aero Commanders, not all the little planes that Desert Air operates and surely none of those pistons have RT...

I believe there is/was restructuring in management at Desert Air? Almost done with my lic, so who can I go see to line up a job? Is it necessary to do my 210 convex to stand a better chance at getting a job here? (They can do in-house training and put it on a training account?)
