Let's put two cases here:
1- If you are a low hour fresh graduate pilot without any initial type rating. You are hired by a company and they have TRI, Can this instructor type rate you in forms of line training and flying some hours on sectors and etc without the need to go to a TRTO to get a type rating?

2- You are an experienced pilot with jet hours experience and other ratings on Mulit-Pilot Aircraft, now the same case as above can the TRI rate you one of the other types he is holding TRI for?

At least given the info provided.

Which regulatory body.

JAA: The induction section of the company manual, will dictate the pre training required.

There is usually a requirement for all training to be undertaken in a SIM if available.

Previously I have typed new hires in a Hawker without even going near a sim, and have conducted OPC in real aircraft.

Things change, so I am prepared to be corrected.

Then what's the use of this TRI forgetting those who instructs in Simulators?
