Best sound to be heard in NZ since it last flew. Check out CAP Photography he did some air to air stuff with it.

The low run and pull up towards the crowd from the south (over the estuary) on Saturday was "O for Awesome"!!!

A couple of CAP's photos from FB....

Truly outstanding plane flown by a very professional showman. That plane was the highlight for me and that is not to belittle the quality of the Pitt Special guys, the bf pilot and the P41, P51 and the Spitfire crew. That Hunter was in a class of its own and although the wind was around 20kts on Sunday not one of the pilots gave it scant regard. I must say it is hard to capture the Hunter when it screams down the crowd line at 30 odd feet at 250+kits. And the noise? Take a peel of thunder and mate it with the scream of an F1 Ferrari engine and you're half way there.

Thought I had something in the library.
All the photos were on the ground and not that exciting....

But did someone mention the sound.........

Hawker Hunter.MPG - YouTube (http://youtu.be/FFxzxKzki3g)

Found that beauty hidden deep in my video library collecting digital dust.

I heard second hand that during the pilots brief when the airshow co-ordinator said, "we have a ceiling of 9500 feet..." the Hunter pilot put up his hand and asked if he could have 12500 feet. After some of those pull ups I can see why!

Ahhhh...the blue note...

4x30 Aden cannon, 380-420 knots...needed a certain outside air temp. Was it 28 degrees C?
