After 2 weeks on business in the USA I managed to get another friendly BA cabin crew welcoming me on the return flight. Thanks to the BA226 Atlanta-Heathrow team Friday 28th from ATL.

I know BA get some mixed reviews on the forum but, having flown with them over 20 times now, I only seem to get friendly crews.

mrs radeng has a flight to Stuttgart tomorrow on BA. Strangely, I have a business meeting in Stuttgart Wednesday and Thursday, while mrs will be back home. But we get a night together there. If the service is not as good as usual, i'll let you know...

It doesn't surprise me that you have had nothing but good experiences with them. BA are such a good airline they will always attract unjustified negative comments.

I've had the odd flight where things didn't quite go according to plan but that happens on all airlines. I also believe people have become far too fussy nowadays and expect to be treated like VIP's when flying in premium cabins.

I've never had any real problems with BA themselves. Everything that has gone wrong seems to have involved LHR.

No thank you!!

it's nice to finally have some positive comments. Inevitably a company that flies somewhere in the ball park of 35million passengers every year BA will not be able to provide the dream flight for everyone but you can rest assured the vast majority of the fine people working for them are aiming to do exactly that.

It's very easy in this day and age to cut back and to cheapen your product. Just about every company has in the name of cutting the cost base. BA have tried their hardest to maintain a product while competing in one of the most cut throat business sectors in the world.

BA employs just short of 20,000 cabin crew with in that group there are bound to be people who have a bad day at work at anyone time but in my experience again the vast majority of them are profession and courteous and most importantly they care about the customer.

Being a legacy carrier with a legacy cost base is both a fantastic accolade and a hindrance. BA's challenge now that they have placed themselves in a strong market position is to exploit it and bring back some of the glamour and joy of flying. To make sure the customers know the difference when they are flying with one of if not the best. Remember though when people get on a BA they are expecting and it is harder to live up to a reputation than it is for other companies where there is little or no expectation.

It's an exciting time to give BA a go or to revisit if unfortunately you have had a bad experience. There is a very strong company focus on providing the service expected and with refitting of current aircraft and the arrival of the new B787 and A380 BA intends to impress and having seen previews of the products I'm confident they will.

It's really great to have a thread backing BA. We've been using them now for over 10 years & have no complaints. There's no doubt that things have improved markedly in the past 12 months. T-5 is an absolute revelation.

We're looking forward to BA59 LHR-CPT on 1 March...............in the bubble!! :ok:

T-5 is an absolute revelation. Oh that it it is if you want some exercise.

T5 isn't bad for walking distance. Atlanta is the worst airport I've encountered in over 20 flights in just over 6 months. Even with their dinky trains you still have to walk a long way. Whoever designed that place can't have ever been to an airport before!

It isn't so much the distance but the number of elevation changes. Only been through T5 twice, both times on a quick (landside) transit and seemed to be going up and down like a yoyo

The trouble with all of Heathrow is BAA.

Trip to Stuttgart absolutely fine, except the chicken at lunch was more very old hen, and would have made good material for re-soling shoes. Ground staff and flight crew usual friendly, efficient, pleasant people.
