TWO people are dead after a vintage plane clipped trees and exploded in a fireball at a country airstrip in central Victoria.
It is understood the Tiger moth aircraft was taking off from Maryborough Airport just after 5pm when the tragedy happened.
Witnesses reportedly told of a seeing "ball of flames" moments before the plane crashed.
Emergency services crews remain at the scene.
