AF346 seems to have turned round west of Ireland and be returning towards Paris. Wonder why?

Is it really necessary to post every b****y turnaround here?

Not when there is a perfectly good spotters' forum here where I suspect this one will be off to soon.:)

Looks like AFR346 LFPG-CYUL turned back to LFPG.

Thats a rumor!

Have to agree with D2D - even if it does end up in the spotters forum. It's getting quite ridiculous now.

GY11, I was in a KLM MD11 on my way from AMS to YVR when we turned around 2.5 hrs into our flight. There was a technical issue which needed fixing and although we could have continued to YVR they didn't have the required new part there and so KLM ops elected to bring the a/c back to it's home base in AMS.

Maybe it's following it's company pal A380 turnaround (http://www.pprune.org/spectators-balcony-spotters-corner/474754-afr-a380-turned-back.html)

What I don't get is how folk expect someone directly involved (flight crew, company ops, ATC) to be on this forum and to post an answer.

AF346 was the A380 that turned around jack

On my way to the store I realized I forgot my wallet. After clearing my deviation, I did a 180 and was able to get a priority arrival in the driveway.

Fortunately, no post drive inspection was required and I was able to resume the trip with just a short delay.

The point I was making was there was already a thread on this subject before a second one was created. They have since been merged. Try following the link I had made, it doesn't exist anymore, but if you hover your mouse over the hyperlink it shows the web address it used to link to.

Well for the curious AVherald has the report of smoke in cabin due to video screen overheating.
