Term Approach Flaps

I want to know if my interpretation of term approach flaps is correct or not wrt B737 NG
For AEO approach flaps 15 (Landing Flaps 30 or 40)
For OEI approach flaps 5 (Landing Flaps 15)

Have a careful read of the AFM (not FCOM) conditions, restrictions and QRH. OEI may be different to AEO, should not be, but - the devil is in the detail. Usually in the OEI climb out requirements (approach climb).

Depends on options and your definition of approach and landing flaps.

For example we do usually flaps 30 landings OEI, and either 30 ot 40 AEO. In both cases flap schedule is the same, at GS/intercept latest F5, 2000ft gear down F15, somewhat before 1000ft final flap setting to enable correct speed, spooled up engines and completed landing checklist before 1000ft.

In older planes without fail operational autoflight system we are restricted to F15 OEI landings and usually aim to have F15 before GS intercept and at intercept drop the gear. That way we can configure and fly the approach without changing our powersetting.
