Sorry folks. For some of you out there awaiting Xmas presents you are unlikely to receive them anytime soon.
CASA has ramped Santa's sleigh after it entered Australian airspace and stopped off at Horn Island for refueling. Several FOI's and an AWI inspected the vehicle and found the following:
1) Santa was unable to supply his log book when it was requested
2) Santa's sleigh was operating with an unapproved MEL.
3) Two of the Reindeer had not completed SMS training as per the company manual
4) Under Section 28 of the Act CASA deemed Santa to not be a fit and proper person
5) Neither Santa nor his Reindeer had a process in place to report hazards either electronically or via fax and a hazard register
6) An inspection of Santa's sleigh revealed spar corrosion, a non complying skid and an aileron that had missed it's scheduled service
7) Santa failed to active his red anti collision beacon
8) Although Santa had applied for his ASIC renewal 16 weeks ago his details are yet to be verified by the AFP and Interpol

Sorry kids, Australia's fun police have taken a proactive approach to a perceived safety issue that could have had immense repercussions

Yours sincerely

Fort Fumble

Australia's fun police have taken a proactive approach to a perceived safety issue

Gobbledock,

He will also be receiving "multiple" RCA's in the mail:

The Civil Aviation Fun Police (CAFP) have issued a statement claiming Santa is in breach of multiple sections of the Act, and will be held accountable:

RCA's have been issued for:

* Breach of CAR 206, it is the opinion of the Office of Legal Cat Food (OLCF), that Santa's operation meets the criteria of a "Commercial Operation" and requires an AOC, which Santas does not presently hold,

* Breach of CAR 206, it is CAFP opinion that Santa's Operation is an RPT service, and Santas has neither and AOC or an approved CAR 217 T&C system,

* Reindeer frequently defacate, often whilst flying, as the faeces drops to the ground, it is the opinion of the OLCF that this is an "Airwork" function, which Santa requires both an AOC and an Agricultural Pilots Rating, of which he has neither.

* No paper work or engineering order has been presented with respect to Rudolph's illegal modification, the red nose does not have a flight manual supplement, nor does it have a system of approved maintenance, a Reindeer can not be maintained under Schedule 5.

* Upon questioning, it would appear Santa has frequent afternoon "naps", as such he is now required to see a specialist for possible sleep apnoea, his medical is cancelled effective immediately.

Mr Grinch, the CEO of the CAFP, has made it his mission to make Santa accountable for his heinous crimes, Mr Grinch stated he would not give up the fight with Santa until he was eating Rudolph burgers and using elf bones as tooth picks at the CAFP end of week BBQ's.

Nice gobbledock.

In relation to being unable to produce his logbook, I do believe Santa has 7 days to comply... which MIGHT be enough time once he gets fuel off Horny Island and battles all the BN2s for a takeoff slot- but it is the wet season so 32 launches would help reduce the delays.

I wonder how the Perth arrival went... Delays expected with all that PTL fun and Cross Julim @ 250kts?

Also I heard that the sleigh was maintained overseas as well. In addition to using foreign reindeer and crew.

Marry Xmas...

..........that's a beauty 'jaba', an oldie but a beauty:ok: Merry whatever & all that crap too!:E

Slipping on into ML last night I caught a glimpse of Santa & his sled, looks to me that by the way it was painted (red rat on the tail) & the fact that ATC was shoving him in front of the rest of us RPT'ers he has connections with CASA/QF (same thing):E
Also heard that the big red fat guy (Santa) was let thru the scanners despite carrying multiple contraband goodies, see told ya he had connections!:-)

Enjoy the TS's today guys:)

Shell Management.

Grow up, sounds to me like you should get out more.

'been looking at some allegations of CASA non-compliance recently, seems a few at Fort Fumble are demonstrating that, of which you accuse the original poster.

To quote a very wise former head of CASA ( there have been some) quote:" A compliant organisation is not necessarily a safe organization, a non-compliant one is not necessarily unsafe".

I heard that some reindeer want Santa to be given the pineapple and a new giver of gifts appointed. It would be alleged that Santa's OTP has lapsed ever since he refused to introduce a new sleigh type for his yearly international run. Also profits from presents is down 71%, parents have not received a gifts dividend for several years and the bearded git recently locked out all elves, reindeer and sleigh mechanics in an attempt to prove he actually has a set of plums under his little red dress.

DEPARTURE POINT: N00 00.0 W00 00.0 (NORTH POLE)

Excuse my ignorance, but wouldn't the north pole be N90 00.00 W00 00.0?

Once departure point is 90 North, the longitude can be anything and you are still at he North pole..

Blackhand,
Given the level of paranoia in GA (for good reason), why are you surprised ??

Given the level of paranoia in GANot that I have seen, working around GA in Aust the last few months.

But back to the Santa Fantasy, surely he would have pulled out the pump action shotgun - a gift for Bob Katter - and given the CASA and other bad elves a bit of what for.

Notice Santa doesn't have a safety vest or Asic card!
