I have just heard that old George Dobson has passed away after a short illness. RIP and thanks for all your help mate.

I am stunned by your message-I had lunch with George and some other ex-British Eagle colleagues in London, in July. Can you please supply more detail?

George was one of aviations greatest gentlemen, I first flew with him in British Eagle and after its demise Donaldson. He attended the British Eagle reunion in Sept. 2010 and was treated as the distinctive guest. As pjac mentioned this is a great shock as he was 'hale and hearty' when we had lunch with him in'Shepherds' last July.
If anyone has details of his funeral arrangements it would be appreciated as George had many friends who would like to pay their respects.

George was one of the Finest Instructurs I have come accross In the flying Game , In the days of King-Air In the 70's I did my I/R with him on the the Good old Frasca Sim that King-Air Had, A true gent of Aviation. I take my Hat of to you Sir And you will always be Remembered.

I have spoken to George's old firm at B' Hill (ESG) according to info. received from them a service for George will take place at;

BIGGIN HILL.
AT 2 P.M. 20Th. DEC.

The Chapel is on the A233 North of Biggin Hill village.

I understand that the service will be held at St George's Chapel, RAF Biggin Hill on the 20th December at 2pm. Then a wake at the executive terminal by the control tower at Biggin Hill.

The Chapel is small and will not hold limitless numbers. The final numbers were sent off to the caterers for the wake 2 days ago & Orders of Service ordered today. In addition, there are max numbers at the reception venue for Health & Safety.

I'm keeping a tab on numbers so as to ensure that other guests (including family) don't end up without a seat, food, drink etc.

I am attending the service at the Chapel, I am unable to send you an email. I will not be able to attend the wake sadly.

I've been to several funerals there (strangely most of them in December) and there were always many attendees. Some people usually end up standing at the back and along the sides.

The large number attending this fitting send off, demonstrated the high regard for this much admired aviation professional.
