Heard a rumour today that the Masters of the Universe at Wollongong Uni have pulled the pin and are closing the doors on what used to be Avondale Flying College.
Sad day for what used to be a good school that trained a lot of pilots over the years...

Not rumour, fact.
Planes grounded Dec 16, doors close Dec 23. Announced yesterday to instructors who are now jobless.

As a former student and staff member of the original school it is sad to see things end up this way... The staff have faced one challenge after another for the better part of the last ten years. The industry will be poorer without them. The many good pilots around the country are testament to their efforts and dedication. If anyone is after some good people, pick up the phone NOW!
