Two hurt in helicopter crash near Ayr in north Queensland | News.com.au (http://www.news.com.au/national/chopper-with-two-people-aboard-crashes-near-ayr/story-e6frfkvr-1226208752745#ixzz1f3XNS0EP)

Local businessman Neville Walker, in his mid-60s, was taking a female friend for a joy flight in what was believed to be a self-built helicopter, when it plunged into a paddock on Old Home Hill Road about 6pm (AEST).
Mr Walker's son Darren said it was "touch and go" for his father, who was flown to Townsville in a critical condition last night.
Peter DelleBaite and his cousin Glenn ran to assist the injured duo after the chopper appeared to lose power and crash into their cane field on last light.
Mr DelleBaite said Glenn had pulled Mr Walker from the wreckage and preformed CPR until emergency crews arrived.
"The pilot was still trapped in the wreckage ... we quickly went over and unbuckled his belt and laid him on the ground because there was leaking fuel tanks," he said.
"If it went up he wouldn't stand a chance.
"Glenn applied CPR straight away, he was breathing but still unconscious when he left here in the ambulance."
Mr DelleBaite said the woman had been thrown about 20 metres from the wreckage, but had remained conscious throughout the ordeal.
"She was conscious and I kept her talking, I think she had internal injuries.
"She was thrown about 20 metres in front of it as it rolled, while he stayed with the main part of the chopper to the end, she got spat out."
Emergency crews initially believed the pilot had not survived the crash.
Last night, investigators said it appeared Mr Walker may have suffered a heart-attack following the impact.

I believe it was a home built Babby Bell and had engine failure.
