Just seeing that Flybe Nordic operate HEL - TKU and TMP - both of which could be seen at a push as Ryanairports for HEL.

We're talking 2 hrs train for TKU-HEL or just 90 mins for TMP-HEL, under 2 hrs by road.

Leaves me wondering why they bother - yes, things can go wrong on the roads, but delayed flights likely to create much bigger set back.

I assume people on these routes aren't PTP, and perhaps lack of fast rail link from HEL to Central station is ongoing work, but from TMP, you can reach Tikkurila in 1hr 15, transferring to the airport in about 15 mins.

I know there are plenty of examples in Europe where rail improvements have killed the shorter flights, but this struck me as a particularly short sector.
