Hi crew.

On behalf of many of my peers, any guess on when Virgin Australia will be hiring?

Also, I hear the transfer of the B773 to the Virgin Australia AOC is imminent? Any word/timeline on this?

Thank you.

We are hiring. Mostly 737 FOs.

If the 777 were to be added to the "Virgin Blue" (hasn't changed name to my knowledge) AOC, what possible difference would that make?

V Australia is only changing its name to Virgin Australia in line with the rebranding. Feb I think from memory. For the time being anyway they will remain separate as far as operation, chief pilot etc.
No changes apart from the name and paint job.

Boeing west said I hear the transfer of the B773 to the Virgin Australia AOC is imminent? Any word/timeline on this?

Mmmm I think you didn't hear this and you maybe made this up however for the record....

- v Australia 777 will not be changing AOC. This has been said specifically,
- All three groups will run separately and on separate Pay/agreements. (only the paint will be the same - think jet connect, national jet)
- Intergration in terms of movement will only happen if agreeded to buy the VIrgin australia pilots. That will be separate to the EBA.
- Have been hiring for quite a while.

And for 737.

As others have said recruitment seems to be ongoing. Very nice (and welcome)correspondence recieved from VA today. Phone interview upcoming. Fingers toes and everything else crossed the nice lady indicated that if succesful would be looking at new year courses for 737 FO's and CRFO on the 77 in the new year.

Cloud

No sim date yet was a telephone interview, she did indicate that December was a possibility with ground courses starting early 2012.

Good luck hope you get through

Hi adsyj and cloudsurfng,

May I ask what sort of hours and experience (charter or regional) do you have when you applied for Virgin?

cheers:ok:

I have 2700 hours, 500 hours on B737, escaping the QF group along with many others!

Looks like there are a few of us here taking the leap from Qantas.

Am I the only one that had a phone interview? I'm getting a bit paranoid.

I applied for the Cruise Fo so maybe (hopefully) they are doing the 737 first.

Good luck to everyone:ok::ok::ok:

Any idea of how many more will be needed after this week's order??

Boys

Virgin has gone and gotten rid of StaffCV. There new online recruitment system doesn't have the ability to apply for FIRST OFFICER positions directly other than filling out an obscure EOI.

What's the go??

I thought with the V Australia EBA the starting point is 777 S/O and then move to 737/E-jet.

I hear both have been hiring lately so dunno.

So with the change in the online application process, does that mean all of the updates we have done so far are no longer be applicable? If that is the case, will they be able to tell if someone applied today or a year ago? And if we apply for expressions of interest, we could be called up for any position? It would seem likely that if you said 'no' for Pacific Blue, they would not then consider you for Virgin Australia.

If you have an application in process this application will remain valid and there is no need to reapply on the new careers page.

For all future applications you will be required to create a new profile on our careers page (http://careers.pageuppeople.com/549/cw/en/listing/ (http://careers.pageuppeople.com/549/cw/en/listing/)).

Anthill, so what does an 'application in process' mean exactly? That virgin has called to begin the recruitment process? Or just that you had an application in the system.
If you 'had' an app in on bfound, have they brought your details across? Some are getting emails saying to reapply on the new system, but others are not??

how the hell do you end up with 2700 hrs and 500 737 in this country? I have 3000 hrs and still stuck on a piece of junk dash 8 :ugh: but hey i have it better than many others i know!

anyway enough of my problems...... I see no CFO listings on the recruitment page. I assume its an EOI they want then?

Are you able to transfer from PAC Blue to Virgin easily?? Or if you take a job with PAC Blue you are stuck and have to wait to go threw the normal process?
