AN-2 at Moorabbin ?

Was driving past Moorabbin when I saw from the distance two aircraft in the circuit, one red and white and the other yellow, both travelling VERY slowly. As I got closer, spotted a yellow AN2 on final for 31 with that looked like white or light grey engine cowls. Didn't see the red and white aircraft again and was wondering if it was one too.

Apparently there's only a couple of these around, would this have been the yellow one from QLD ?

I dont think the three brothers have painted theres but if they have it should be a fast paint scheme. But with all the QF trouble at the moment I would expect two of them to be busy flying helping out the backlog. Any pictures available.

We were doing an endorsement on Saturday, Lilydale was a bit wet after heavy rain.

Was brought buy a group of people that thought we should get an AN2! it was over a few beers.

We have no real use for it but love it!

If you have a spare 15K you can buy a share we are 2 short - hence the year wait.

I spent 3 weeks pulling them apart with some Ukranian engineers

The tyres had been flat for 3 years , they pumped right up and held air , try that with a western made tyre.

I was really impressed with the AN2 , really well thought out design and well put together rugged flying truck

Was watching it do its thing in the YLIL circuit from the YCEM Drinks Garden..We saw it get passed by many clouds. :ok:

I can highly recommend the use of using car carrying ships for the transport of medium size aircraft and helis , a lot less hassle than flat racks !

My observation from the ground at Lilydale is that it can taxi faster than it flies.

I noticed them washing bugs off the trailing edges the other week, pretty cool to see it hanging in the air like it does though, massive fuel to noise converter!

Fair chance I will do my entire PPl in the AN2, rather wipe the bugs of an AN2 than a C150!

Crz at about a 100 knots with 1,500 kilo of ?? to say Birdsville for $500ish an hour.

I did not know what 1 looked like a few years ago, but now we have it LOVE it!!:)

heard these guys at YMKT had a AN2, seen it bright and shiny with my own eyes.Also heard that a couple of years ago that they bought a cessna 402 and in the back of the hangar I saw a yak52 all aparantly go what gives with these guys can anybody explain?
