I am looking for a book that explains JAR OPS in plain english. My instructor had one, I thought, but can't seem to recall what it was. I seem to remember that it was a book that provided a simple explanation of a regulation with a real-life example to help put the regulation in context.
I found Croucher's book (http://www.pooleys.com/prod_detail.cfm?product_id=977) and A Guide to JAR-OPS by John Swan (http://www.pooleys.com/prod_detail.cfm?product_id=1156) via Pooley's.
I have Croucher's other book and found it helpful, but it did not go into the level of detail I prefer.
Anybody have any feedback for either book? Or, possibly another recommendation?
JAR OPS in Plan English is the one you want.

Dunno how good a book about JAR OPS is right now to be honest. For once, EU-OPS has replaced JAR OPS in 2008 and although it is similar it has some marked differences. And then there is the issue of the all new EASA OPS coming out in april next year which will bring quite a few changes as well.

Good point Denti...maybe I will wait.
Paco...aren't you the author ;)
Er yes, I am, but EASA won't officially be doing much until April next year, and as they are woefully underfunded and understaffed I suspect all they will be doing is changing the name of JAR OPS to EU OPS. Certainly, with all the ops manuals I'm writing now, I have to use JAR OPS as references.

Paco - how about getting your publisher to release an electronic version for all of us not living in the steam age ;-)
The PDF version is available here (http://www.electrocution.com/aviation/#JARS):
For the ipad, you need Blue Fire Reader

Phil,
Great with the PDF version. I was not aware of that availability.
How come the cover shown on Lulu for the PDF version differs from the hard copy? Is there any difference between the two?
No difference, just the picture.
