Looks a bit like the DH Factory at Stags Lane, Colindale, but I could be wrong.

RAF Hooton Park ? It's a similar hangar type (Belfast Truss)

Have to correct myself -
it seems to be Alexandra Park Aerodrome

That distinctive curve road should be a good clue, if it still exists. Hard to tell from modern Hooton Park, but I don't think so.

following correction - the road/building layout matches perfectly for Alexandra Park.

The chart http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/04/Alexandra_Park_Aerodrome_Chart_1917-1924.jpg shows clearly, that this is Alexandra Park Aerodrome

The treed park (top centre) is Alexandra Park, and the large church (top edge, left of centre), is St Mary's.

Isn't google maps great!?

I would guess the photo was taken from an Avro 504K from the bracing arrangement (double links between ailerons).

Fantastic! It was one of a number of large photographs bought by a friend at a Fair. The source of the photographs was from a Manchester newspaper archive
