Anyone have any experience with Alpine Air out of Provo, UT? Is this a legitimate place to build time? Does a SIC cert really help in getting to fly a major airliner (i.e. B747)?

Alpine Air is offering a Pay to Work/Pay to Fly/Pay for Job, written as P2F in shorthand. If anything, at least in the US market, P2F will prevent you from getting hired at certain companies later on. Especially after the Colgan crash in Buffalo, NY, where both pilots were products of P2F at a previous carrier, there is quite a bit of negativity these days to US pilots who went down the P2F route. Do a search on here for P2F and see what comes up, even in places like Europe (where it is more common than in the US), it is quite a racy topic.

Also, you will find that this forum is very European centric, and the pilotīs market in the US and the rest of the world are quite different.

PM me if you want more information.
